Paul Okrutny

Paul Okrutny, M.Sc, P.Eng

Materials/Mechanical Practice Lead

Paul is a professional engineer who specializes in the assessment of metallurgical and mechanical failures. Paul has presented his findings at arbitrations, mediations and in the court of law. During his tenure at Canada’s largest forensic engineering firm, Paul investigated over 800 failures dealing with building mechanical systems (plumbing, HVAC, fuel oil supply and fire protection). Paul has been published in international scientific journals and has presented his research and forensic results at provincial, national and international meetings. He teaches undergraduate courses in materials engineering and volunteers his time to committees that help upgrade engineering codes and regulations.

Currently, Paul is the founder and president of Mitigateway. Mitigateway helps carriers deliver prevention solutions based on past claim data. While operating Mitigateway, Paul continues to offer forensic services to select clients.

Sasa Dzekic

Sasa Dzekic, M.Eng., P.Eng.

Civil/Structural Practice Lead

Mr. Sasa Dzekic, M.Eng., P.Eng., is a designated consulting engineer with over 35 years of professional experience in civil/structural engineering, including more than 25 years in forensic engineering. He specializes in the investigation and assessment of failures or underperformance of structural systems, building envelope, and/or their components. Mr. Dzekic has assumed responsibility for structural design and field review during construction for a wide range of projects. He has performed evaluations of the extent of structural damage, planning and on-site advice concerning unsafe building conditions and demolition, including temporary measures for the structural securing of buildings, and preparation of the scope of required remediation. He has conducted investigative engineering evaluations, produced reports, and provided expert testimony as required, for insurance and legal matters, including numerous large/complex losses.
